Hampton Inn Carlisle

Everything was clean, hotel was nice and maintained, quiet, and service was very friendly. Location just off 76 was perfect. Room was a little dark and the bathroom/mirror layout meant any light in the bathroom was spilled and reflected into the bedroom at night. Breakfast was hot and clean and staff was friendly, but there were no meats available, all the fruit tasted like the juice mix it was bathing in, and cream cheese/jelly selections were limited.

We are visiting my daughter and this hotel is 3 miles from her house. Perfect location for our needs. The room was quiet and comfortable. We were on the third floor on purpose. The bed was a little hard but the sheets soft and the blanket the perfect weight. The a/c worked great and the bathroom was a comfortable size. There was a couch that didn’t suck and a little desk. I loved the black out curtain set up. There was a filter blind and then the pull down shade but it went all the way to the top and all the way to the bottom. The window was built in with an edge so there was absolutely NO light at all. The mirror was situated on the wall in a way to NOT reflect the light from the bathroom AND we couldn’t see the door from the bed so no light from there either. There was a separate desk/work area that had its own lights and they did not bother the sleeping person when used. Also the fridge is a separate stand so it isn’t at the end of the bed taking up space. The room was large enough that u weren’t tripping over your luggage. This will be our preferred hotel when we come up again (we come every month or so to visit). Ps. It was very clean. I dropped a contact on the floor and it didn’t even have dust or lint on it when I found it and picked it up.

We stayed in Hampton hotels for a week in September, and we are now doing the same again, though, on a slightly different route. Some have been better than others, but overall, they tend to be nice, reliable places to stay. However, the one we are staying in tonight is disgusting. Food and stains on the room carpet is bad enough, but the worst is that the entire image of the hotel smells like sewage. We were told there is a water treatment plant less than a mile away, but I can't smell anything outside. If we didn't have an elderly dog that hates getting in the car, we would be leaving and finding another hotel. To his credit, the man at the front desk offered us a can of Febreeze that we can use but must return right away. Also, what appears to be a room freshener mist comes out of the hallway vent on a cycle - though I can't smell that is doing any good. I don't know the answer to this problem - but Hampton needs to figure out a better solution. Avoid this place at all costs.

This whole complex (another hotel next door) smells bad. Like stale smoke. When you enter the lobby, it’s like a smoker’s convention has been going on. They go outside but there are so many of them the whole lobby smells bad. Upstairs I swear someone previous to us must have been smoking cigars in this room. This review is not a joke. The whole building is run down, the carpeting has long been worn out in many places. It smells like urine out in the hallway. Totally gross hotel, I would stay away from this place if I were you.
